Nathan Maxwell – Director

I started my life in the construction industry way back in 1990, in good old Gore, where I was a draught person with a local building company and went on to become the estimator and project manager. In 1994 I moved into the roofing industry with Calder Stewart Roofing in Invercargill, where I was an estimator and project manager.

In 2003 I was offered the branch manager position in Christchurch, where I have lived since. In 2009, when Calder Stewart decided to move out of the contracting side of the roofing business, I started CS Roofing Canterbury Ltd. Over the years we have grown that company into the successful business it is today. In 2019, Ken came to me and said we should look at producing our own flashings which I thought was a great idea. From this, True Fold Ltd was born.

True Fold totally complements the roofing business. We have a great team that produce good, clean, accurate flashings of the highest standard. I am proud to be part of the team at True Fold.

Ken Balvers – Director

I completed a plumbing apprenticeship after leaving school in 1984 and later gained a national certificate in roofing. In 2015 I took up the role of project manager for Nathan at CS Roofing Canterbury Ltd.

Having had previous experience in sheetmetal work, and in particular the manufacture of flashings and rainwater goods, it made perfect sense for us to establish True Fold Ltd to complement Nathans roofing business.

I oversee the day to day operations, including purchasing, invoicing, and business growth and development. Outside of work, when time allows, you can find me on the golf course, fishing, or camping with family and friends.

Terry – Factory Foreman

I started my roofing career in 1994 working for a membrane roofing company until 2002 when I moved to a commercial roofing company. While there I worked on some off the biggest jobs in the South Island and also worked on a sheet metal folder for two years.

After 14 years I needed a change and undertook roles in sales, coordination, and later installation of tray roofing and wall cladding which gave me a real insight into a different style of roofing.  When I saw an ad for a sheet metal folder operator at a new company, I was excited to take up the challenge and be involved with the setting up of the factory.

I enjoy dealing with customers, many of which I have met over the years, and my experience in the industry means that I know the end use of the products that we fold. Outside of work, I am into speedway and mucking around with old jet skis.

Solti – Folder Operator

Hello, I’m Solti all the way from Nepal! I have been living and working in New Zealand for the past 6 years mainly folding flashings and doing other sheetmetal work.

Besides working, I love travelling whenever I can. It’s great working for True Fold, everyone is so awesome and friendly. I’ll sum it all up here aye, churr!!

Sophia – Office Manager

Originally from Invercargill, I entered the roofing industry at a young age working after school for the same manufacturing company as my dad and uncle. It was with this company that I got a transfer to the Garden City – bringing with it an opportunity to gain more knowledge and adapt to a new market.

In 2019 I was lucky enough to join the team at CS Roofing Canterbury Ltd. The role of Office Manager seemed to compliment my experience in administration, inventory and customer relations as well as pose a challenge with learning the accounts side of a business. Once True Fold Ltd was up and running, I was more than happy to get on board in the same role – it’s been great to extend my day to day work team and work load.

My relationships are what makes me happy so my spare time is spent visiting family, finding new places to eat and explore with friends and staying in with my partner and cat and a good movie.
